A lovely June day

Happy Sunday everyone! It's a beautiful sunny morning. The cardinals are very busy, flying in and out of our backyard. They have a nest in one of our cedar trees. Such beautiful birds.

I got up at 5 am to take Cooper out and to give him one of his pills. The Coop decided he wanted to go back to bed so off to the bedroom we went and slept until 7 am....but not before I sent my friend Linda a note about the hockey game last night. I knew she was up so we exchanged a couple of messages. Vegas won and it is likely they will win the Stanley Cup on Tuesday. We are both huge hockey fans but Linda is more obsessed than I am as she always watches the games until the very end 😂 Next big hockey event will be the 2023 NHL Entry Draft in Nashville on June 28 and 29. Fingers crossed that the Montreal Canadians get some good picks. After that, we wait for the new hockey season to start in the Fall.

This past week was good. On Tuesday, we saw Dr. Javard. We spent well over an hour with him discussing Cooper's overall condition. He gave the Coop a full checkup and thought he was much too lean. He weighed in at 17.2 pounds, down from 18.8 a few weeks ago. Those 12 pills a day have been doing a number on his appetite and that is not sustainable. So, a couple of tweaks with his meds and some new food seem to be doing the trick. Coop's appetite has returned and his RRR remains stable. He is not eating with gusto, and not full portions yet, but he is eating and for that, we are grateful. We have the most amazing medical team behind us. Oh, and Dr. Javard got to meet our little girl Spicy. He thought she was the sweetest!

We didn't do much last week. Our Havanese get together didn't happen due to the weather and smoky conditions. We have two new potential dates. We also didn't walk until yesterday. We got a little bit of rain on Friday which helped clear the air. We need more rain though to help with the forest fires.

I resumed my workouts last Monday, got three in. It felt good to sweat a little. Our pooches got to snuffle almost every day. They really enjoy this little activity, dare I say they are obsessed with it! Russell has been doing some exercises for his knee. He will most likely need a knee replacement down the road. He will meet with the surgeon in a couple of months.

My brother is coming for lunch today. We haven't seen him since mid-April. It will be good to catch up. That's my blog for today. Have a great week everyone!

A photo opportunity while on our walk with a

The church spire of St. Joachim stands
majestically in the distance as seen from

These two know how to help
change the bedsheets.

Looking for treats in the carrot patch!

Spicy keeps watch while Cooper
takes a nap -- teamwork!

  1. I love your blogs Anne. So well written and summing up all that’s happening in your life.
I will be tuning in tomorrow night for the final hockey game too and yes, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the Canadiens will get some good young talent in the draft pick. Our hockey withdrawal period is being replaced by the F1 fever. Will be great to watch “our” race on Sunday.
Have a lovely day and speak soon
